WE WON!
Congratulations to our Ladies Division 3 for their 2022 Pennant victory. The win will see them promoted to Division 2 for season 2023.
We played Nedlands at Wanneroo golf course and it was a nail-biting finish. Our number 7, Lynda Wake came in early with a 5/4 win. Leanne McVey and Helen Constable, playing in the competitive 1 and 2 positions, came in winners – both 2 holes up with 1 to play. Kerrin Thomas, Raelene Dunsire and You Ran Han, fought it out in the middle, but fell just short, so we were tied 3 games all.
Our final player, Alison Hoy was last seen heading down the 17th, 2 holes down! To the team’s delight, Alison rallied and won holes 17 and 18. She then won the 19th hole, securing our 4 games to 3 pennant victory. Yeehaa!
The team was missing 3 of its regular members, Shirley van der Brugghen, Rosemary Burd and Anne Hitchen. These ladies along with Cheryl Collings and Nina King played in the qualifying rounds helping to secure our top of the ladder finish.
And sincere thanks for outstanding support goes to our Caddies – Bev Doherty, Rod Constable, and from our Division 5 team – Jenny Marsh, Anne Ward, Cheryl Collings, Nina King and Christine Orr.
