Division 3 – Round 3 June 16th

After a week off for the long weekend, our division 3 ladies travelled to WA Golf Club to play their second and final qualifying game for season 2022.  They notched up another convincing win, 6 games to 1, over Gosnells.  As a result of their 2 wins, they have finished on top on of the Div 3 group and will play Nedlands in the “Final” on June 27th.  All details yet TBC.

 Congratulations Ladies!

And again team selection was complicated due to player injuries, necessitating some last minute team changes to both Div 3 and 5.  We managed to secure a strong Div 3 team and the results were:

The winners – Leanne McVey 1 up, Helen Constable 1 up, Alison Hoy 4/3, Kerrin Thomas 4/2, Anne Hitchen 4/3 and Raelene Dunsire won on 20th hole.  And an exhausted You Ran Han, pushing her buggy with a flat battery lost on the 21st hole.

Division 5 – Round 6

Our division 5 team were not so fortunate, ending up 1 player down, and without caddies, as they headed to Joondalup to take on Gosnells.  Joondalup is a tough quarry resort course with unforgiving rough and lightning-fast sloping greens, that only 4 of the 6 team members had played before.  Joondalup had advised that ride on buggies (a necessity if you want to survive the undulating terrain) may not be allowed on the course due to the excessive rain! Fantastic!! And this was a must win round for us!

Thankfully buggies were permitted, and we headed out onto the course to give it our best shot.  Jenny Marsh, after smashing her first tee shot down the middle, drove off into the hills, asking us to come and find her if she disappears into the wild.

We ended up winning 3 of our 6 games, but with the walk-over, suffered a 4 games to 3 loss.  Winning scores were Lynda Wake 3/2, Anne Ward 4/2 and Jenny Marsh 6/5. Nina King went to the 17th before losing 3/1, Chris Orr lost on the 18th by 1, and Cheryl Collings fought on to the 16th losing 4/2.  It was a tough day at the quarry, but our team spirit remains intact!  We are heading to Gosnells next Monday for the 7th and final round against Joondalup.
