2022 Women’s Senior Pennant 4BBB
After a two-week break, our ladies team headed out for their final game for season 2022 and they came in with a convincing win! Congratulations, a great way to finish the season.
Their opponents were Lakelands and the venue – Gosnells Golf Club. Representing MGGC were Cheryl Collings/Jenny Marsh, Terri-Anne Williams/Rosemary Burd, Anne Hitchen/Di Jowett and Helen Constable/Judy Harrison.
Our team did extremely well with 3 wins and one draw. It was an excellent effort by all and our final duo, Helen Constable, and Judy Harrison, were the last ones in and the only game to go the full 18 holes and finish all square.
Our Captain Cheryl Collings decided to make sure she stood out in the group by wearing the incorrect pennant shirt. That’s what happens when you get dressed in the dark.
Once again it was greatly appreciated to have Shirley and Leanne come to watch and support our team.
Unfortunately, this final round win wasn’t good enough to knock Gosnells off the top of the ladder, as they also had a win. The results aren’t official yet, as the golfwa rep forgot to come! So, they will soon announce the winner after reviewing the daily results. (If they remember!)
Our team was very competitive all season and the result may have been different had we been able to complete the rain abandoned game at Lakelands. Outstanding effort and quality golf, by every participating player.
Thank you and sincere congratulations to all the ladies who made up the team over the season! Despite Covid and stormy weather, we managed to field a team each week of proud, talented, and dedicated Melville Glades Lady Pennant players.
