Members,

Over several months now we have endeavoured to highlight the lack of attention to bunker raking at all our presentations. Obviously this has had little effect. I will concede however most members that have the courteously to stay for presentations probably are not responsible for this lack of attention.

From the picture attached this situation is totally not acceptable and shows a disregard for our fellow members and is just complete laziness and quite frankly a disgrace.

Personally on Saturday I had the misfortune to enter the bunkers on seven occasions. In five of those bunkers I had to rake footprints and bad raking left by previous players.

This lack of care, inconsideration and laziness has to stop.

I know my next comment should not be necessary but it is up to each and every member to take responsibility for their actions around the golf course and also, if seen, educate members of your playing group that have not done the right thing. This applies to all golf be it social or in a competition.

I sincerely hope this message has some effect and we can eradicate this bad behaviour.

Totally not acceptable at a private golf club.
