Lady Captains Blog – End of March and Heading into April
Firstly, let me confirm the Grade changes for our Main 2023 season, as advised on Opening Day. I apologize for not confirming this information in my earlier March Blog.
A Grade – 0 to 19, B Grade – 20 to 27, and C Grade 28 upwards. And as requested, I will ask the Pro-shop to include these Grades on the “Longest Drive” flag markers on Stroke days.
Secondly, welcome to our 2 newly “Invited Juniors”. We have 2 very talented Juniors, Valerie Khuu and Ruby Cotton, who have recently returned to MGGC as Juniors and been granted “Invited Junior” Status by our Board. As an invited Junior they will have full Ordinary Member playing rights. They are both local girls who you may see around the course practicing and improving their golf skills. Both girls are still at school so will mainly be out training/playing after school or on weekends. We may have them join us for a game or two during the school holidays, so please make them feel welcome. Wishing both girls all the best for their golfing futures.
March 30th. We launch into our 2nd Stroke P & C Round, which will also be the 1st golfwa Silver Spoon qualifying round. We will have the same Rod Webb Sponsored Grade prizes, and then the template prizes for good scores down the line. Additionally, we will be awarding our Best Overall Nett Winner with a prestigious “Silver Spoon” prize.
We then have a relaxed week of Stableford games as we lead up to the Easter Break. Remember to bring along your cash and buy some tickets in our Easter raffle, as we start our Prostate Cancer fund raising campaign.
April 13th – is our 3rd Stroke P & C and 2nd golfwa silver spoon. Same deal as March 30th!
And just around the corner is our 2023 JUBILEE FOURSOMES Stableford comp scheduled for April 20th. At this stage, just secure your partner and click on the attached link for all the relevant information.
And that will do for now with a final note to start getting your game perfected for the Club Champs due to start on May 2nd. Currently working on the entry forms/Conditions for Play, that will be coming out soon! Stay tuned.
Cheers
