Congratulations ladies we have completed 2 of our 2023 Stroke, Putting and Consistency rounds and winter weather permitting, we have only another 8 to go!  (two of these will be the first 2 Club Champ rounds).

March 30th – Stroke P & C round 2 Wrap-Up :

  • Huge congrats go to Adele Smith – Best Overall Nett and proud winner of the Bev Doherty sponsored Silver Spoon! Adele’s smile said it all – she had a personal goal to one day shoot under 100 and she smashed it!  96 gross calculating to a to winning 68 Nett – simply sensational.
  • The 3 Rod Webb $40 Grade Nett winners were Alison Hoy 72 for A grade, Bev Doherty 74 for B Grade and Kerry Walton 79 for C Grade.  Great scores ladies.
  • Our 9 Hole Rod Webb $20 Best Nett score of 37 was won by our very talented new recruit Sande McKinlay.
  • Dropping the ball closest to the par 3 flags were – You Ran Han on 5, Bev Doherty on 14, Alison Hoy on 17 and our relatively new member Amanda Wilson on the 9th, who opted for the MGGC Wine Glass prize. Later that night she sent through a photo of it chilled and filled with wine.  Great dedication Amanda – cheers!
  • And to our Big Hitters – Longest Drives were won by Amanda Wilson – C grade, Jenny Marsh B Grade and Shim Kingston A grade.
  • Finally, congratulations to our talented and consistent quality golfer, Leanne McVey for her 82 Best Gross Score!

And sincere thanks to those who stayed back for presentations and for your input into Rule of the Day discussions – Rule 6.3c – Hitting the wrong ball. We got it pretty much sorted in the end and proved how difficult interpreting golf rules can be! Thanks, Anne Ward, for all your research and TV summary.

Now relax into the Stableford week leading up to Easter.  Travel safe if you are heading away.  For those staying home, check the Booking sheet for all the available long w/e golf competitions.  It is a good opportunity to practice your skills with our Club Championships just around the corner.
