Dear Members,
The Club has been successful in obtaining an extension to its licenced area, with the whole course including the driving range and practice facilities, now licenced for the consumption of alcohol purchased from the Club. This significantly reduces any previous risks to the Club’s liquor licence when alcohol may have been consumed in areas other than the clubhouse without a special permit. The extension also gives the Club more flexibility to serve alcohol on the course via a mobile cart for special events without the need to request and pay for a separate permit on every occasion.
It is important to note that now the course is licenced, it is illegal to BYO alcohol onto any of the Club’s licensed premises. The premises include the land upon which the golf course operated by the Club is situated and includes the golf course and buildings thereon, and all practise areas, driveways and paths. As Members would understand, this means that all alcohol consumed on the course and practice facilities must be purchased from the clubhouse. As the licensee, the Club will of course maintain its obligations for the responsible service of alcohol.
The Club’s by-laws will be updated to reflect this change.
