Division 3 Pennants – Rounds 6 & 7 – Tracy Johnson
It takes an orchestra to whistle a symphony……..Unfortunately for our Team, we couldn’t whistle a dog nor a tune for our last two rounds. However, everyone played their hearts out with great tenacity and team spirit.
Round 6 was played at Gosnells Golf Club on a cold and blustery morning against ladder leaders WA Golf Club. We all knew that it was going to be tough day on course with only 1 square from Nina King and a commendable 1 down for Raelene Dunsire. We welcomed a debutante Pennants player to the team, Marnie Pillai, who enjoyed the challenge.
Round 7 we ventured to beautiful WA Golf Club and played in perfect conditions against the formidable, low handicapped Gosnells Golf Club team who finished second after this round. The result was 5/1, with squares from myself and Christine Orr. Lynda Wake playing at number 1 took her player to the 18th narrowly losing 2 down, Anne Ward also put up a strong fight taking her opponent to the 18th but finishing 1 down.
Season 2024 is now over for Division 3, we finished a respectable 4th from 7 teams.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all players for their camaraderie, humour, team spirit and flexibility in contributing to making this season of Pennants an enjoyable one. Thank you to our caddies who were always ready with positive encouragement and the odd stern word to get us back in the game.
I would like to express my gratitude to our clubs Admin Staff, Food & Beverage, Pro Shop and the Course team for their assistance in the smooth running of our hosting commitment, we received many compliments from other Clubs.
Lastly a huge thank you to Cannington Mazda – Dean and Nina King for your support of the Club pennant teams.
Good Luck to Division 1 for this Mondays Finals match at Lake Karrinyup Country Club against Wanneroo Golf Club.
