Welcome back to MGGC!

It has been a busy week for everyone at the club this week. The new concrete path from the 9th to the 10th along the flats, along with the replacement of the existing path at the front of the clubhouse are now completed.

We have included two cart parking areas, one next to the sand bucket area and another on the flats, these will be line marked early December (due to manufacturers recommendations). Please use areas provided to park your carts and not block up the paths for other players.

Cart access has been blocked from the top path, meaning carts have to park at the ends or down the bottom. This is to keep people safe from carts flying past. Please access via foot from either end or the parking at the bottom.

Please stay on the paths with carts, this will help the turf grow in. Due to time restrictions some areas of turfing around the new path will be finished next week.

I would like to thank Luke Dowsing and his team for all their hard work to get this project finished in time for turf to be replaced on Friday so the top path can be safe for member use on Saturday. This project most certainly was not a 5 day job but the Dowsing team have made it happen.

Renovation week has seen Dane and his team working very hard. The greens have been cored and sanded, fairways, tees and surrounds all cored and verti-mowed (scarified) this is all done to relieve compaction and allow water and air into the root zone.

Tree works were carried out and a lot of dead trees were removed for safety reasons.

I would like to thank Dane and his team for all their hard work this week, putting in 12 hour days to complete all the required work.

Last but not least we had over 50 volunteers out on course this week helping! A big thank you to all who put their hands up and helped with all the jobs around the club and course. Many hands make light work.

A very successful Reno week in my eyes. I hope all members enjoy the benefits from this weeks hard work.

Happy golfing,

Nigel Williams
Director of Course
