On Friday 3rd & Sunday 5th of January we held the first trial competitions for the MiScore NTP. A pretty successful start and I appreciate how quickly our Melville Glades members have gotten onboard with the new technology. We are also aware of some teething issues and how the change can affect you, so I am writing to address these with you.

  1. Pins, Flags and Markers for Measurements

We understand during this period, that the Pins didn’t have measurements on them, so as of today we have addressed this and will have measurements on all Par 3 flags. When using the flags for distance, please use the edge of the cup as your marker. In addition, we also have the white markers/disc which should always be used on the greens to eliminate any human error (which we will discuss below). We will make sure that these markers/discs are off the green and ready for the days play.

    2.MiScore App & Accuracy

We know that the app isn’t going to suit everyone, so as long as there is one person in your flight scoring digitally, they can enter any player as an NTP. Its paramount that when scoring on the app, you identify the correct distance, for example if you were 10 meters away, making sure you have 1000cms entered correctly on your device.

The reason for getting it right the first time is that it saves the Pro Shop and Golf Ops the hassle of another player being closer as it is difficult to override, which is a good segue into 3.

   3.Problems or Concerns

If there are any problems or errors, your first point of call is to get in touch with the Pro Shop or Golf Ops (Phone call or email), these may happen if a player has put 10cms in the app, but it is actually 100cms away (which will be identified with the marker), you will be unable to change a player that is closer.

   4.Positives

The great advantage of having these in place is that we can present all the award winners at presentations (which has been fantastic in recognizing great play) and it saves Jodee (who we all love) a lot of time where it can be spent in other areas of administration.

I thank all of you for contributing your feedback, positive or negative its all going towards moving the club forward. Which we as a club are very passionate about.

Kind Regards

Jamie Mason
