On behalf of the Board and Management of Melville Glades I’d like to welcome everyone back for another year of golf in 2025! After a busy 2024, this year is looking no different with the Club hosting the Golf Australia Interstate Teams Series in May and a number of other changes taking effect from 1 January.

A reminder to members of the below changes that have taken effect already:

  • Members are no longer able to store batteries and chargers for electric push buggies on Club premises. Thank you to those members who have already removed their batteries and chargers. Those of you who weren’t able to remove them from the sheds before the end of the year please note that they have been labelled with bay numbers and removed. You will be contacted shortly to make arrangements for their collection.
  • The Prize pool for member competitions has increased from 40% to 50% (excluding GST) and a new prize distribution template has been compiled based on the number of participants within a given competition. All prizes for competitions from January 1 will go into a members wallet account and no longer go into a Pro Shop account. Your Pro Shop account that expires in June 2025 will remain in place but will not have any further prizes allocated to it.  
  • Social play times have changed. Social play before the field on a Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Sunday will commence from no earlier than 6am and members must book into the appropriate timesheet. On a Monday the timesheet will only be open for those teeing off between 6-7am with times after 7am available as normal. Those booked into timesheets will have priority over those not booked in. 
  • Social play has also been limited within competition fields on a Friday to the AM field only and on a Sunday to the PM field only. There is no social play available within the Friday PM field and Sunday AM fields.

We will also be conducting trials during competitions in January with regards to using the MiScore App for recording NTP winners as well as members having the choice of whether they play off blue or black tees on a given day – please keep an eye out on the website and in the Pro Shop for more information on how and when these trials will be taking place.

Thank you to all those members who have paid or provided us with their payment plans already – reminder to those who haven’t put payment options in place yet you have until the 31st January to do so. We are looking forward to another great year in 2025!
