As we move into the start of April, we have many exciting golf events coming up, which means ‘Men’s Club Championships’ are literally a month away.
It is an epic time to host the Club Championships with the course playing host to the Interstate Series the same week as round 1 of the competition!
Predominantly, these stroke days take longer, it has also been shown that this extra time taken has little to no effect on your overall score, but it does impact other players greatly. With shorter daylight hours, we will have full fields of golfers on consecutive Saturdays.
For the benefit of everyone, lets enjoy ourselves, but let’s also speed our pace of play up around this time.
Some examples are:
- Teeing off on time.
- Keeping up with the group in front.
- If you can’t see where your ball has finished, hit a provisional.
- Make your club selections while waiting for others to hit.
- Line your putts up while waiting your turn.
- When you have finished putting, move directly to the next tee.
If you apply these simple methods, it will help ALL players enjoy their rounds.
The course is in fantastic condition, let’s be considerate to your fellow players; knock in and sand divots (not just on the fairway, but in the first cut as well). Rake bunkers smooth when you have finished, not just where you have played, but also your footsteps as well. Lastly, repair pitch marks on the greens and also just short of the greens, as players are unable to repair these for themselves in competition circumstances.
I wish every player the best of luck in the championships this year.
Kind Regards
