The COVID-19 landscape in WA is evolving daily and no doubt many members will have been keeping one eye on the Premier’s announcements and their other on what their favourite restaurants, pubs and Clubs are doing. We are no different!
We are monitoring the rules and regulations that get announced as well as keeping on eye on what other similar venues are doing. We are assessing our options for when the borders might open, which at this point in time is February 5th.
The Premier today announced that “We are currently finalising a longer-term policy, which will cover a wide range of licensed events and venues, restaurants, as well as riskier environments like indoor fitness centres. This policy will come into force as we move closer to easing border controls.”
At this stage, this all the information we have, however with the current requirement to be double vaccinated to attend larger licenced venues we are attempting to get on the front foot with our planning and preparations to ensure we can act swiftly and smoothly when the need arises.
As a part of this planning, we are asking Members to provide the Club’s office staff with Proof of Vaccination by sending a copy of one of the acceptable forms of proof to admin@melvilleglades.com or dropping a printed copy into the office during office hours. The sooner this can be done the better prepared we can be should any restrictions or mandates be imposed on the Club.
We are working with our software providers, who work with several other Golf Clubs around Australia (Thyme Software and MiClub), and we will record these details as part of your membership record. Please note this information will be kept confidential and will not be provided to anyone enquiring about another person’s vaccination. This information cannot be updated through the Melville Glades website and must be done in the back end of our systems.
While no decisions have been made for the coming weeks or months at this time, we must prepare now for what might happen, with the health and safety of members, guests, employees and their respective families to be at the forefront of any decisions that will be made. We will continue to keep members informed as the landscape changes.
