Division 5 – Round 7
Our division 5 team were at full strength for their 7th and final round, as we headed off to Gosnells to tackle Joondalup. We won 6 of our 7 games with the 7th game a draw, so it was a convincing 6 ½ games to ½ team win.
The first few holes were played in drizzling rainy conditions, but thankfully the sun came out and we finished dry, warm, and smiling!
Our winning player scores were:
Lynda Wake 2 up, Anne Ward 6/5, Nina King 7/5, Christine Orr 3/2, Cheryl Collings 5/3 and Jenny Marsh 2up. Tryphena Mitchell came in square. And we all had to gift our opponents a shot or two!
Thanks to Caddies Leanne McVey, Raelene Dunsire and Judy Harrison who braved the damp miserable conditions to support Division 5. Very much appreciated.
Season result
We ended our Season 2022 campaign in 4th position with 7 points from 3 wins, 2 loses and 1 draw.
On 8 points were Cottesloe and Gosnells taking our 2nd and 3rd.
Fremantle finished on top of the ladder with 11 points from 5 wins.
Whilst disappointed knowing what season 2022 “could have been”, our team spirit and camaraderie has been “top notch” and we are looking forward to season 2023. Pennant recruits Nina King and Tryphena Mitchell have truly enjoyed their first pennant experience and were outstanding team players, notching up a few wins. And who, together with the rest of the crew – Lynda Wake, Anne Ward, Cheryl Collings, Jenny Marsh, Christine Orr, Julie Harris-Jones, Terri-Anne Williams, and Tracy Johnson, represented Melville Glades with pride and determination.
