Lady Captain’s February Blog
A sincere welcome to our new and returning Lady Members to Golf Season 2023. Our casual summer season is nearly over, and it’s been great to see more ladies heading out onto the course. I hope our numbers continue to swell, starting with
LADIES SEASON OPENER on THURSDAY 9TH of MARCH.
We are going to ease our way into the Season with a relaxed 12 hole Stableford competition for all our 9 and 18 hole members to enjoy. It will be a shotgun start at 8am (in case it’s a tad warm). To be played in groups of 4 with a bargain $5 entry fee to be paid at the Pro shop on the day. You simply book into the time sheet in the usual manner. 9 and 18 hole members can mix it up and play together. We will be playing holes 1, 2 and then heading to the left to play holes 6, 7, 8 and 9. Similar format on the back nine, playing holes 10, 11 and again heading left to play holes 15, 16 ,17 and 18.
And there will be some great Prizes. This event is again sponsored by our fabulous Club Pro – Matt Sturmer, who will be donating a fashionable “Golf Shoe” 1st Prize. Additionally, the allocated funds from our entry fees will be accessed by our Ladies committee, who will each purchase and present good score prizes down the line. But wait, there is more – Nearest the Pin prizes on holes 9 and 17. And we will be announcing the Gross and Nett Summer Eclectic winners and presenting them with their MGGC sponsored vouchers.
So, this is a fun, stress free opening event that is not to be missed. We would love to see everyone out on the course and in the club house afterwards. We will be asking the catering staff to have meals readily available for us all to purchase and enjoy together post game.
So, in the diary please enter – Season Opener Thursday March 9th. Book into the time sheet from 2pm Wednesday March 1st. Try to arrive early on March 9th to avoid congestion in the Pro-shop and to get the pre-game banter going. Then please all meet and greet at the back of Hole 1 at about 7.45 to watch our Director of Lady Members hit a spectacular drive down the 1st fairway, before we move off to our starting holes.
In the club house post-game, we will provide some more news about up-coming events. We have requested only warm sunny weather for the entire season and with no viral outbreaks, so fingers crossed and here we go! Wishing you all good health, great golf and an entertaining season.
Cheers
