Hi Ladies,
It seems like ages since I have posted anything on the website which is a good sign because it means Lynda Wake and the team have been doing such a fabulous job in handling everything.
I have almost forgotten how to put hands to the keypad but here goes….
At the Board Meeting 30th May 2023, the Director of Course expressed concern that the Course staff were not getting enough unhindered time on Monday and Tuesdays to complete their routine course maintenance. A number of genuine reasons were highlighted, one of which pertains to the women on Tuesdays.
After meeting with the General Manager, the Course Superintendent and the Ladies Committee it has been agreed that should there be a gap in the women’s field of half an hour or more on Tuesdays, as has been the case on some of the one tee start days, then Dane and his team can use that half an hour or more to get ahead of the next scheduled group and conduct maintenance such as mow tee boxes, mow the rough, shred branches etc. They will NOT be doing any work on the greens.
Before any of you write in and say you may be changing the conditions of the course during a comp round, I advise that we are aware of this but as the type of work being carried out will have minimal impact on the playability of the course and the greens will not be affected (combined with the fact we are not playing for our livelihoods!) we believe it is more important that the staff have access to the course to complete the necessary work.
From Tuesday 13th June onwards it is expected that you may see Course staff from time to time on your Tuesday round so please be mindful of their presence and ensure you follow the Staff Priority Policy on page 3 of the Fixture Book and By-Law Clause 3.1.3.
Thanks in advance for your understanding and ongoing support of our wonderful Course staff.
