Members after seven months, we are finally getting some much needed rain, but of course this means some areas of our course are going to be soft and others will get increased traffic and wear.
To manage this wear and prevent damage to known “wet spots” we are marking around the greens with blue lines.
There is always an increase in cart use during our wettest days. On these days golfers want to stay as dry as possible which sees carts too often driving right up to the tees and greens. Please stay on paths provided, do not drive carts on too tees and avoid roped off areas.
A SINGLE BLUE LINE indicates the closest a ride-on cart can drive near a green, and no cart, at any time, should drive over that line. No cart whether marked or not should drive within 20 metres of a green.
Please avoid any visible wet areas where possible. Don’t drive through puddles (wet patches). Please remember it is a privilege not a right to use your cart on the golf course and please respect our course. We don’t want to be forced to restrict cart use unnecessarily to avoid course damage that includes excessive wear and tear during the winter months because of some cart users doing the wrong thing.
A DOUBLE BLUE LINE means no carts, ride-on, electric or push type can go though this area and players must go around… again it’s about protecting the course, you don’t want to be just off the green and forced to chip from an unfair lie.
Your understanding and cooperation is needed to keep our course in the best condition possible.
Happy golfing
