I trust you are all enjoying your golf and making the most of the beautiful playing conditions here at Melville Glades. Looking at the weather ahead (High 30’s and Low 40’s), now is the best time to remind our members and guests on the following considerations.
When you are planning to book golf, please give careful consideration on days impacted by extreme heat, especially those that have any underlying medical conditions.
Sun protection is vital, the use of sunblock in the Men’s and Women’s Lockeroom’s is essential, in addition the option of wearing a hat or sun sleeves (Pro Shop) to limit sun exposure.
Hydration is extremely important, pre, during and post round, so make sure you leave a bottle in your golf bag as there are plenty of water stops throughout the course, or purchase before your round or at the turn.
If you feel unwell while on the course, please advise your playing partner straight away, or contact the staff in the Pro Shop, Golf Operations or Admin as they can assist you immediately.
The safety of our members and staff is of the highest priority, as we all know golf is more than challenging enough as it is, and if we ignore taking on board the factors above, it can greatly impact more than just golf.
All in all, sun protection is a vital aspect of any golfer’s round. Luckily, there’s no shortage of options, what tends to be the challenge is being mindful of the sun while playing the greatest game in the world.
Kind Regards
Jamie Mason
