With a high number of rounds being completed at Melville Glades each day the course can undergo significant changes throughout the day. The photo shows a hole after it has been freshly cut (left) and in the late afternoon (right). Course staff cut new holes every day.
You can see how much wear and tear happens throughout the day just from golfers retrieving their golf balls from the cup.
You can help to reduce some of the wear and tear by:
- Taking care to not touch the edges of the hole when retrieving your golf ball.
- If the flag stick is still in the hole, remove the flag stick prior to using any aids/devices to retrieve your golf ball.
- Take extra care when removing and replacing the flag stick so as not to hit the edges of the hole.
Care for the course is everyone’s responsibility and just like repairing divots, fixing pitch marks and raking bunkers – every little bit helps make the course better for all.
