Last week, we launched the NTP roll out to ALL competitions, here are a couple reminders that were sent out at the start of the year.
- Pins, Flags and Markers for Measurements
As of today, the new flags with the tape measurements have been setup on holes 5, 9, 14 and 17. When using the flags for distance, please use the edge of the cup as your marker. In addition, we also have the white markers/disc which should always be used on the greens to eliminate any human error (which we will discuss below). We will make sure that these markers/discs are off the green and ready for the days play. Furthermore, Wednesday and Saturday Comps will be clearly labeled AM & PM, giving the golfers more opportunities to win prizes.

2.MiScore App & Accuracy (IMPORTANT)
We know that the app isn’t going to suit everyone (92% on Mi Score), so as long as there is one person in your group scoring digitally, they can enter any player into NTP competition. It is paramount that when scoring on the app, you identify the correct distance, for example if you were 5 meters away, making sure you have 500cms entered correctly on your device. An example over the weekend highlights this, where a player entered 1.7cms instead of 170cms, this meant that golfers that hit shots inside this measurement, weren’t able to enter it on the App.
The reason for getting it right the first time is that it saves the Pro Shop and Golf Ops the hassle of another player being closer as it is difficult to override in the background.
3.Problems or Concerns
If there are any problems or errors, your first point of call is to get in touch with the Pro Shop or Golf Ops (Phone or email), these may happen (like the example above). You can also take a photo of your shot and email into golf@melvilleglades.com you can include the marker and distance in the email.
4.Positives
The great advantage of having these in place is that we can present all the award winners at presentations (which has been fantastic in recognizing great play) and the admin team a lot of time where it can be spent in other areas of administration.
Thanks for all the feedback, your energy is all going towards moving the club forward, which we as a club are very passionate about.
Kind Regards
